Arts and design in the Nordic house
The Nordic House in Reykjavik exhibit Nordic and baltic art and design, and we have different rooms assigned to this. We have two showrooms in the basement, which are used for large and longer-lasting exhibitions.
These are curated by the Nordic House, and are almost fully booked for the years 2016 – 2018.
In the foyer, we have various exhibitions in duration of three to six weeks. Nordic and baltic artists in all genres are welcome to ask for an exhibition of their art.
How to apply for an exhibition in the foyer
The deadline for applications are: March 31st, June 30th, September 30th and December 31st. The applications will be received consecutively. You can expect to get an answer about two weeks after deadline.
You are welcome to send your application and eventual questions to:
firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject: Kunstutstilling.
The artist must live in a Nordic or baltic country, or have Nordic nationality living abroad.
The application should be written in either English or Scandinavian.
The application must be consisting of a short summary of the artistic expression (maximum one page), CV of the artist, and a pictures (example).
We will consider your suggestions each quarter. You will get a confirmation that we have received your application, but only the selected artists will be contacted.
Description of the room
The foyer at the Nordic house is the entrance and also the heart where everybody meets whether they are going to the restaurant, the library, concert- and conference hall or to meetings.
The exhibition-area will have space to about 14-17 pictures with a width of 70-100 centimetres. Size and number of arts are of course flexible, and we use a wall strip to hang up the art.
