Sounds of the double reeds is the title of an exciting concert at 15:15 concerts series at the Nordic House in Reykjavik on Sunday February 28th at. 3:15 pm. Double reeds isn’t a kind of insect species as someone may think, but a common name for oboe and bassoon players who form their sound with a double reed. The double reed players from the wind octet Hnúkaþeyr, oboists; Peter Tompkins and Eydís Franzdóttir and bassoonist; Kristin Mjöll Jakobsdóttir, joint by the harpsichordist; Gudrún Óskarsdóttir and cellist; Sigurdur Halldórsson, will perform rearly heard pearls from the baroque period: Trio Sonatas by Jan Dismas Zelenka, Arcangelo Califano and Johann Fredrich Fasch as well as a solo piece for cello by Domenico Gabrieli. This is a concert that shouldn’t be missed.
Tickets are sold by the entrance.
Ticket price is 2000 kr. but 1000 kr. for elderly, disabled and students.
